Welcome to Class One!

We are a mixed Year One and Two class. Our class is looked after by Mrs Lee alongside Miss McKone, with Mrs Tomlinson supporting in Maths each morning. Mrs James provides PPA cover in class.

Helpful Information

Each week, the children have two PE sessions, one on Thursday with Mrs Overton from Retford Oaks Academy and the other on Friday, delivered by the class team. Please ensure that children are in school dressed in their PE kits on these days. It would be incredibly helpful if the children have trainers suitable for outside, as we may need to be on the playground or field. PE kit should be in line with the school's uniform policy.

The expectation across school is that children practice their spellings and phonics alongside their daily reading as homework. All children are sent home with two books - one matched to their phonic level and one for to read for pleasure with an adult. Children are encouraged to read at least three times a week at home. Spellings are fastened into planners and have practice games and sessions linked on Spelling Shed. Phonics consolidation can also be found here too. A log-on is provided for your child - please see their planner for this.

Purple Mash is a safe, secure platform where your child can use ICT to enhance learning in all areas of the curriculum. Again, a log on is provided in your child's planner.

Fruit snack is available daily in school and milk from age five is available from Cool Milk at a subsidised cost. Cool Milk can be accessed here: www.coolmilk.com/parents/
