MEET OUR GOVERNORS

Anna Scott - Parent

I first became a governor when my two children attended Beckingham Primary School. I have continued my role on the Governing Board as a co-opted governor.  I work for an arts & heritage programme based at the University of Lincoln, focusing on community cultural engagement, public history, and cross-sector partnerships connected to culture. 

I have experience of teaching in higher education, working in local authorities and as a consultant, project management, event management, managing budgets, seeking grant funding, evaluation and research. I am a published writer and public speaker. I am keen to support the school, its staff, pupils and families, ambitions and goals.

I do not have any close personal relationships with any staff members that could influence (or be perceived to influence) my impartiality in financial decision making in the school.  Declaration of Financial and Business interests - none.

Peter Coleman – Co-Opted Governor  

Having recently moved to Beckingham I wanted to join a team which creates a positive effect on the village. The school is literally in the heart of the village and whether you are the parent of a child at the school or a resident you are part of the community and the success of the school paramount to the positive village ethos.  

I have experience in the hospitality business, specifically hotel IT. I have volunteered at various PTA’s throughout the years when my own children were school age.  

I am delighted to have been asked to join the governance team and look forward to working with the school staff, the rest of the governing team and of course, the children.

Rhiannon Brumby - Staff Governor

I have worked at Beckingham Primary School since January 2015 and as Deputy Head, SENDCo and EYFS teacher I am passionate about providing children with high quality education enabling every child the opportunity and experiences to reach their true potential.

As staff governor I feel it provides me with opportunities to work alongside staff, families, and the community and to strive to achieve the best outcomes for our school.

Reece Simpson - Parent Governor

As a parent of a child who attends Beckingham Primary School, I see first-hand the importance of a positive school environment, along with how this shapes children’s confidence and future success both socially and academically.

The importance of building stronger relationships between school, parents and the wider community is something I want to make a positive contribution towards.

My personal career as an support worker involves understanding individual needs and providing assistance that influences positive outcomes. This experience can be brought into the role as parent governor, because the same core principles that apply to my job can be mirrored within the school environment.

Taking a more active role within the school community, combined with the views from a parent’s perspective will help to guide and promote the school’s vision; that children succeed and thrive, becoming life-long learners prepared for the world of tomorrow.
