Welcome to Class Two!
Our mixed-age Year 3 and 4 class is taught by Miss Thorpe and Mrs Patchett, and is supported by Mrs Tomlinson, Mrs Story and Mrs Willey.
Helpful Information
Each week, the children have two PE sessions, one on a Tuesday with Miss Thorpe and the other on Thursday with Mr Overton, a PE teacher from Retford Oaks Academy. Please ensure that children come to school dressed in their PE kit on these days.
Please be reminded that long hair must be tied back and that no earrings are worn on these days. If earrings are worn, they must be covered with tape that pupils must provide and apply themselves.
Children are expected to read to an adult at home at least three times per week in order to develop fluency and oracy skills. Diaries should be signed by an adult to verify these reads so the children can be proud of the comments you make, and enjoy sharing them with class adults.
The expectation in Class 2 is that children practice weekly spellings that will be set on Fridays and used throughout the next week. Each week, Times Table Rock Stars homework is set. This homework will take approximately 20 minutes each week and will be monitored using the online class account. A login for this can be found in your child's reading diary.
In Computing, Beckingham Primary School uses Purple Mash. This is a safe, secure platform where your child can use ICT to enhance learning in all areas of the curriculum. Again, a login is provided in your child's diary should they wish to use the learning platform at home to further their expertise.
Class messages, activities and 'wow' moments will be shared via Class Dojo. If you require support in accessing the Dojo App, please see a member of the Class 2 team.
