MEET OUR GOVERNORS
Michelle Oughton - Community
My daughter spent her primary education in Beckingham Primary School. Where I volunteered on a regular basis in Early Years, as well as other things within the school. I was an active member of then PTFA and provided the Gardening club for a number years. I am also a qualified teacher and understand the importance of the quality of teaching and the mental health and wellbeing of both pupils and school staff. I understand the importance of community especially within a village such as Beckingham and look forward to working together with other governors and the rest of the school community.
I do not have any close personal relationships with any staff members that could influence (or be perceived to influence) my impartiality in financial decision making in the school. Declaration of Financial and Business interests - none.
Anna Scott - Parent
I first became a governor when my two children attended Beckingham Primary School. I have continued my role on the Governing Board as a co-opted governor. I work for an arts & heritage programme based at the University of Lincoln, focusing on community cultural engagement, public history, and cross-sector partnerships connected to culture.
I have experience of teaching in higher education, working in local authorities and as a consultant, project management, event management, managing budgets, seeking grant funding, evaluation and research. I am a published writer and public speaker. I am keen to support the school, its staff, pupils and families, ambitions and goals.
I do not have any close personal relationships with any staff members that could influence (or be perceived to influence) my impartiality in financial decision making in the school. Declaration of Financial and Business interests - none.
Judith Laurie - Community
I have lived in Beckingham since 1975 and my three children were educated at Beckingham Primary School.
I have a life long commitment to education having been a primary school teacher for 25 years after which I spent 15 years working in Initial Teacher Training in Lincoln. I retired in 2006 and with more time available I am happy and privileged to spend time supporting Beckingham Primary School as a Local Authority Governor.
I am delighted to see how much the school is developing both educationally and as an active part of the village community. I look forward to supporting the school in whatever ways I can in both of these aspects.
I do not have any close personal relationships with any staff members that could influence (or be perceived to influence) my impartiality in financial decision making in the school. Declaration of Financial and Business interests - none.
Peter Coleman – Co-Opted Governor
Having recently moved to Beckingham I wanted to join a team which creates a positive effect on the village. The school is literally in the heart of the village and whether you are the parent of a child at the school or a resident you are part of the community and the success of the school paramount to the positive village ethos.
I have experience in the hospitality business, specifically hotel IT. I have volunteered at various PTA’s throughout the years when my own children were school age.
I am delighted to have been asked to join the governance team and look forward to working with the school staff, the rest of the governing team and of course, the children.
I do not have any close personal relationships with any staff members that could influence (or be perceived to influence) my impartiality in financial decision making in the school. Declaration of Financial and Business interests - none.
